The International Symposium on Cell Death will take place at the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing. It is located in Köln-Lindenthal

All talks will be held in the MPI Auditorium, coffee breaks and the poster session will take place in the entrance hall of the building.

How to reach the MPI by train and public transport

By tram:

From the Cologne central station take either the no. 16 (direction "Sürth", "Bonn / Bad Godesberg") or no. 18 (direction "Klettenbergpark", "Brühl") tram to "Neumarkt" station. You will arrive below street level and need to take the steps/escalator up to street level to change to the no. 9 tram (direction "Sülz") or the no. 146 bus (direction "Deckstein").

From Cologne Messe/Deutz change to tram no. 9 (direction "Sülz") and get off at the stop "Universitätsklinikum" and walk in the direction of travel. Turn right into "Joseph-Stelzmann-Straße" and walk straight ahead. Crossing the next street (Kerpener Straße) you will find the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing with house no. 9b (building no. 32 on the University Clinic map) on the left side of the street.

By bus:

Take the no. 146 bus and get off at the stop "Geibelstraße". Turn left (in the direction of travel) into Joseph-Stelzmann-Straße and walk straight ahead until you reach the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing on the right side (house no. 9b / building no. 32 on the University Clinic map).

Driving directions / how to reach the MPI by car

On the motorway / Autobahn A4 take the exit "Köln Klettenberg" followed by Luxemburger Straße, direction Cologne Centre. At the first traffic light turn left into "Militärring". After approx. 1.5 km turn right into "Gleueler Straße". After another 2.2 km turn right into "Joseph-Stelzmann-Straße". You will find the building of the Max Planck Institute for Biology of Ageing, house no. 9b (building no. 32 on the University Clinic map), on the right hand side of the street. Please note that parking spaces on the University Clinic campus are very limited and that you will need to pay for parking (yellow machines).

How to reach the MPI from Cologne/Bonn Airport

At the airport train station take the no. S13 train, a local train (RE) or IC/ICE to Cologne central station.

Please note: It takes about 15 minutes with the S13 or a local train, ticket category 1b (only for S-Train and KVB tram. The ticket is valid for your entire trip to the institute). Tickets for IC/ICE trains are more expensive and need to be bought at a separate machine of DB (Deutsche Bahn).
