Registration Website for the Machine Learning for Earth System Modelling Workshop and Hackathon 2025

On the following pages you can register for the third Workshop on Machine Learning for Earth System Modelling (formally Large-Scale Deep Learning for the Earth System) from August 25 - 27, 2025, and the associated Hackathon on Machine Learning for the Earth System which will follow from August 27 - 29, 2025. The Workshop & the Hackathon are supported by CESOC, ECMWF, the TRA Modelling at the University of Bonn, the Forschungszentrum Jülich and the University of Cologne.

  • Registration is possible with following prices and deadlines as
    • Workshop full participant (240 €, deadline: June 30, 2025) -  
    • Workshop student participant (125 €, deadline: as soon as 30 slots are filled)
    • Workshop online participant (75 €, deadline: August 21, 2025).
    • Hackathon participant (50 €, deadline: latest 14 days after notification of acceptance)
  • Workshop in-Person registration fees include access to the venue, coffee breaks and lunches for the 3 days.
  • Workshop online registration fee includes professionally filmed Livestream. Link will be sent within 24 hours before start of the event. 
  • All registered workshop attendees will be provided with recorded lectures after the event.
  • If you register as PhD or MSc student, please have a copy of a verification document handy, as you will be asked to upload this at the end of the registration procedure.
  • The registration fee for the hackathon includes access top the venue, coffee breaks, lunches, lectures, and tutoring.
  • The hackathon includes the option to participate in a social dinner. To join it, please choose the offer named: Hackathon Participant (including Dinner), this will add 40 € for the hackathon dinner.

During the registration process you can optionally create an account on this registration website. This account enables you to access your documents related to the workshop on Machine Learning for Earth System Modelling (invoice, booking confirmation/ticket) also at a later point in time and it allows extending your bookings if desired. Please be aware, that if you register as student participant you need to create an account in order to upload your verfication.
