ECSR 2025 Annual Conference "Demography & Social Inequality"

Call for Abstracts


We welcome you to submit your abstracts for the ECSR 2025 Annual Conference "Demography & Social Inequality" in Cologne.

Please consider the following when preparing your submissions:

  • Abstract submission opens on December 1st, 2024 (00:00 CET) and closes on January 31st, 2025 (24:00 CET).
  • All abstracts must be submitted in English.
  • You will have to submit a short and an extended version of the abstract. The size of the short abstract should not exceed 250 words. The size of the extended abstract should not exceed four A4 pages (including references). The extended abstract can only be uploaded in pdf-format, and the file size cannot exceed 10 MB.
  • You will be asked to select up to two preferred areas of expertise for abstract evaluation from the provided list:

    1. Family dynamics
    2. Educational & developmental inequalities
    3. Gender inequalities
    4. Migration, integration, & interethnic relations
    5. Work & labor market
    6. Wealth & poverty
    7. Social stratification & mobility
    8. Social policies, attitudes, & political behavior
    9. Health inequalities, mortality, ageing & wellbeing
    10. Methodological advances
  • Each applicant is allowed to submit up to three abstracts. However, only one abstract on which the applicant is the presenting author will be accepted in order for the conference to be as inclusive as possible. You will be able to designate a presenting author during the submission.
  • If changes to your submitted abstract are necessary, you can edit your abstract any time before the submission deadline. Please do not submit the same abstract more than once.
  • An automatically generated confirmation will be sent to your email address. If you do not receive it within an hour after completing the submission, first please check your spam folder, and contact the organizing committee only if you do not find the confirmation.
  • Authors will be notified of the acceptance of their full abstract by e-mail by March 1st, 2025.
  • To submit your abstracts (and register for the conference later) you will have to create an account on this website. This can be done in the "Abstract Submission" section.
